Corgi Club — Privacy Policy

Corgi Club ("the app") is a virtual-pet game published by Chinese Powered ("we", "us"). The short version: no sign-up, no email, no real name. The app creates a random anonymous account so your corgi can be backed up and booped, and that's as personal as it gets.

Data stored on your device

Your corgi's stats, your coins and biscuits, streaks, cosmetics, settings and progress live in the app's local storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes them (subject to your phone's own backup settings and the cloud save below).

Cloud save and the anonymous account

On first launch the app registers a random identifier with our server (corgi.chinesepowered.com) so that your corgi survives a lost or new phone. We store: the random account id, your corgi's name, whether it's a boy or a girl, look, personality, level, cosmetic fit, a gameplay snapshot, litter membership, and boops/gifts received. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or precise location, and there is nothing to link the account to you.

On iPhone, a copy of the anonymous account key is also kept in the device's keychain, so reinstalling the app on the same phone finds your corgi again. Deleting cloud data in Settings removes that copy too.

Moving to a new phone: Settings can create a transfer code. We store it only in hashed form, it works once, and redeeming it moves the account to the new phone and signs the old phone out. Creating a new code cancels the previous one.

Boop links and litters

When you share your corgi, the link contains what the page shows: the corgi's name, look, personality and (if cloud-saved) its public page id. Anyone with the link can view that page and boop your corgi. Litter invites work the same way — the invite code reveals your corgi's name and look to whoever you send it to. Share links with people you like.

Steps and weather

With your permission, the app reads your device's step count locally to walk your corgi — step data never leaves your device. Weather-matched scenes are opt-in: the app asks for location only when you tap to bring your weather in, and only for approximate location (it never requests precise location). Coordinates are rounded to about 11 km before they leave your phone; our server asks Open-Meteo for the local weather and does not store your location.

Notifications

Local care reminders are scheduled on-device and are opt-in. If you enable them, the app also registers a push token with our server so friends' boops and gifts can reach you; the token identifies your device to Apple/Google push services and nothing else.

Purchases (App Store / Google Play + RevenueCat)

Payment for Corgi Club Gold and biscuit packs is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. To validate purchases and keep your membership working (including "Restore purchases"), the app uses RevenueCat as a service provider. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and a random per-install identifier — not your name, email or payment information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob: rewarded videos you choose to watch (for bonus bones or biscuits — always optional, never required for anything) and one banner on the Den and Shop tabs. Corgi Club Gold subscribers see no banner, and there are no interstitial ads. When an ad is requested, Google's SDK may collect device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad-interaction data, used for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention.

What we still don't do

No analytics SDKs, no data resale, and nothing above is ever linked to your identity — there is no identity to link it to.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → "Delete cloud data" removes your corgi, account, boops, gifts, transfer code and push tokens from our server immediately — no request form, no waiting period. Boops and gifts you've already seen are deleted from our server automatically after a week. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.

If you no longer have the app installed and want anything remaining removed, email nelson@chinesepowered.com and we will delete it. Accounts are anonymous, so include your corgi’s share link (the corgi.chinesepowered.com/c/… URL) — without it there is no way for us to tell which record is yours.

Children

The app is suitable for general audiences, collects no personal information, and has no chat or user-generated content beyond a corgi's name shown on pages you choose to share.
